For the first time, the annual meeting of the Division on Dynamical Astronomy of the American Astronomical Society will take place outside the United States. The meeting is scheduled in Cannes, France, from April 19 to 23, namely the week before the general assembly of the European Geosciences Union, which will take place in Nice (Nice and Cannes are only 30 km apart). This will give the opportunity of combining both meetings.
With the Cannes meeting, the American and European communities of dynamical astronomers will have a unique opportunity to meet and confront. We therefore expect an exceptionally large participation, with scientists mainly from US, Western and Eastern Europe.
By moving its annual meeting
abroad, the DDA has the potential to become the primary focus for the world-wide
community of dynamical astronomers, as it occurred previously for the DPS
with the 1986 Paris Meeting
